Dubious about the Kitchen

OK I can admit that the cabinets look pretty, pretty nice.
Lidingo is a nice line.

There is the outstanding matter of the kitchen sink though. It does not fit the cabinet well, or at all- we'll have to do some major modifications to support the 90 lbs ceramic farmhouse sink and to make it fit flush to the countertops. I've been to IKEAfans.com and have some ideas...To be continued.

Room for the Oven...

Dishwasher will go to the left of the sink. We picked out Pergo for the floors this week. It'll be nice to see it all come together. I think I'll faint when I see my dishwasher installed!!

ikea vs. happiness II

Allegedly, all the nincompoopery will come to an end and these cabinets will be installed today or tomorrow. Your blogger is skeptical, say the least.
Extra gold-star points today go to Ikea for giving me a hard time and misinformation. No luck yet on the refund for the $3700 countertop since we can't wait a month for installation.

ikea vs. happiness

Will the week long struggle to obtain, assemble and install an Ikea kitchen destroy our marriage, nay, our very sanity?

Time will tell.

Cousins are fun.

Wood street is not pretty.

This is what happened to Auntie Natalie's Jeep on the way over to babysit M today. Uh oh! Cousin A keeps saying he's afraid of the water! I did not make it in to work.

Phabdeun?? P?? N??

Since we both have somewhat unusual names, Thad and I make a competition out of how many takeout receipts with ridiculous attempts at spelling we can get. This one puts our boy in the lead:
Update: Now the pic is cropped so Thad's cell# isn't all over the internet. Oopsie.

Welcome to the neighborhood, amateurs.

Light at the end of the tunnel.

The dry wall guys must have found the screws they conveniently lost this week. now we have almost legitimate walls!

It's been one incredible year all right...

I got the idea for this favor for M's 1st birthday from one my sister in law made for our nephew on his 4th. That little flower pot has been on the sill in front of the sink here for 2.5 years for all I know. Please also notice that beautiful 1500 piece "butterfly frenzy" puzzle. We finally completed it after 2 weeks.

Insulation is Important

This handsome guy is my brother Ben. He's spraying foam insulation into our walls. I can't believe he wears this get-up every day. *chuckle*
